Nato U.S.M1001 with Pershing Ⅱ Missile Erector Launcher

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a German MAN KAT1 off road truck, produced in different versions. It was developed from the early 60s but materialized in the late 70s. Derivative variants of the KAT 1 8×8 versions were developed for the U.S. Army, being the M1001 the prime mover of the Pershing II nuclear missile.

About the Pershing II, it’s a medium range ballistic missile, developed and produced during the 80s, as replace for the Pershing 1a as primary nuclear-capable theater-level weapon of the U.S. Army.

Pershing II were dismantled and destroyed as part of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty of 1988. (*Note that treaty was about to destroy launchers and rocket motors, while warheads were removed, modified and reused)

Kit includes a small PE (photo etched) detail sheet.
