Description:

Neubau-Farhzeug Nr.3-5

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a German WWII heavy tank project Panzerkampfwagen Neubaufahrzeug.

This heavy tank was a prototype produced between 1935 and 1940, 5 units were manufactured serving in Norway campaign (3 of them), It’s not clear what happened with those tanks after Norway but the project was abandoned as the concept was obsolete for the time. The design was the first attempt to produce a medium tank, but it’s was too heavy and too slow. The multi-turret concept, also present on Soviet, U.S. (M3 Lee) or British designs of the mid-late 30s also proved to not be successful.

Kit includes single piece DS type tracks and simplified bogies parts. Decal sheet allows for 5 markings, covering prototypes Number 3 to 5 in different stages, three markings for Germany 1940 and two markings in Norway 1940.

Model built and painted by Raúl Belenguer, you can follow construction phases here and more finished images here. The model is finished with one of the markings as seen in Germany 1940, for the Norway campaign they got a brown-grey camouflage schema.
