Description:

Sd.Kfz.184 Elefant

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a German WWII tank hunter Sd.Kfz.184 Elefant, the improved version of the Ferdinand, produced using the chassis of the cancelled Tiger (P) project. Less than 100 units were produced.

The Ferdinands first saw combat action during the battle of Kursk in 1943, this exposed several flaws which were corrected in the Elefant production, externally, the main differences were the addition of a ball-mounted MG 34 machine gun in the hull front, a commander’s cupola, modified from StuG III and often they were coated with Zimmerit anti magnetic mines paste.

Kit includes PE parts, tracks are mostly individual links (one of the differences with kit Dragon – 7201 – Sd.Kfz.184 “Elefant”), but still provides the single piece option. Provides decal sheet able to reproduce all the vehicles of the schwere Panzerjäger-Abteilung 653 (sPzJgrAbt 653) which saw action in both Italy and East Front.

Dragon later reissued this kit as Dragon – 7515 – SD.Kfz.84 Elefant, without PE parts and only with single piece tracks option, as well as less markings in decal sheet.
