Horse drawn wagon with Zwillingslafette 36 IF-5

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a German WWII two Horse drawn wagon Type 36, a Maschinengewehrwagen 36, literally machine gun carriage 36, If.5, made of sheet metal and divided into a two-wheeled front car and a two-wheeled rear car used to transport two heavy MG 34 machine guns with machine gun carriage 34 and the associated ammunition.

The machine guns were transported in lockable boxes while the carriages were covered with tarpaulins and attached outside the rear part of the rear cart.

This cart the feature of mount the two machine guns ready for air defense (Zwillingslafette 36) in the rear cart, which was detachable from the front one and stabilized extending two supports in the same operation to open fire.

Later during the war, these carts were replaced by single horse carts If.8 type.

Kit includes the two horses but no crew. Includes PE parts. Sadly this kit is largely out of production, was not an easy to build small model but a really nice addition to an early war vignette.
