Description:

LaGG-3 (type 66)

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a Soviet WWII fighter aircraft Lavochkin-Gorbunov-Gudkov LaGG-3, in service from 1941 to 1944 and produced in over 6000 units, was one the most modern fighter in Soviet service at the start of the German invasion in 1941, despite its wooden construction and being both overweight and underpowered.

Type 66 was the last major variant of the aircraft with several improvements and visual differences such the four exhaust stacks, shorter antenna, windscreen or the reshaped radiator and reshaped oil cooler. Despite of being probably the best LaGG-3 it still was outclassed by German contemporary variants of the FW 190 and Bf 109 and the Soviet Yakovlev Competitors (Yak 3).

Kit consists of 47 plastic parts and decal sheet includes two markings. Eastern Express has produced several LaGG-3 not all with the same origin, this kit comes from Dakoplast moulds tooled in 1995.
