English Infantry of the 100 Years War

This box contains 45 foot figures in 12 different poses, 4 of the poses (21 figures) are archers.

Kit contains 2 different sprues, the main sprue comes in a x3 format and then a special (command) sprue with 3 unique figures.

This set is mainly for archers, as was the main bulk of the English army in France during most of the 100 Years War, and so in the main sprue, of 14 figures half are archers, 7 figures per sprue in 4 different poses. Following the archers there 4 figures with pole weapons, mainly halberds in three different poses. Lastly there are two men with axes and one with a sword (falchion). One of the pole arms men pose and those with axes and sword also carry shields, in three different shapes/patterns and all in separated parts.

Summarizing the main sprue x3 brings you 21 archers, 12 pole weapons and 9 with axes/sword.

Many of the figures also have one arm as separate part, they fit with a peg in a hole and the fit is very tight, not strictly requiring glue.

Together with the soldiers, the main sprue contains one base and 8 stakes to create a defense for the archers against a direct charge, you get three if these, one per sprue.

Together with the main sprue, a smaller one with three unique figures is provided, including one musician (trumpeter) a banner bearer and one knight, likely the king itself.

Sculpture is top class, as well as casting, without flash, tiny mould lines and the fits for separate parts are well engineered. Proportions of the figures are very good, natural, and the poses are good too. Released in 2008, the kit is one of the many good exponents of the best Zvezda years, when there was a great production rate of full big sets, variety of periods and with an excellent quality hard to pair as whole by any other brand.
