Description:

Russian Crimean Dragoons

Unpainted plastic soldiers in 1/72 scale depicting Russian “Crimean” Dragoons during the Crimean War.

Box contains 12 mounted figures in 12 different poses and horses come in 6 different poses.

Russian Dragoons were still trained as infantry (and so wear the infantry helmet though different plated), with some lancers companies to cover the flanks of the rest of the regiment once they dismounted to fire. The set has not a correct proportion of lancers in the set, but that’s a minor issue, at least to me, compared to so badly balanced sets we have seen over the years. Figures are correct, poses are common one you can find in a cavalry set, without any particularly outstanding but correct, the 12 different poses is a generous offer not so common in many other makers. The horses in 6 poses are less of our taste, though they are correct too.

The sculpture style is the classic Strelets of the time, it still would took over a decade to improve this, which sadly left behind many good topics covered by Strelets in their around first 15 years of existence. In our opinion the set is still useful and not a bad depiction of the subject.
