Kyūshū Q1W Tokai (Type 11, Lorna)
The Kyūshū Q1W Tokai, was the first purposes build land-based anti-submarine aircraft in the world. It was developed base on the Shi-17 specification issued in 1942, the airplane was supposed to be capable of carrying at least 2 x 250kg bombs or depth charges at a distance of 800 nautical miles at patrol speed of 300 km/h. The first tests of the Kyūshū build airplane began in September 1943 but the airplane entered service only in January 1945. It’s silhouette is very similar do Ju-88 but the actual airplane is smaller than the German medium bomber.
