The Crimean War (1853-1856), is often seen in Western Europe as a conflict between France and England versus Russia, but the fact is that the war started as war declaration from Turkey (Supported by France and England) against Russia, to counter part the Russian south-west expansion at the cost of the Ottoman Empire, and with a religious pretext for a truly modern geopolitical conflict affecting the Balkans, today’s Ukraine and the Middle East.

The 1/72 scale plastic soldiers hobby usually chose the British Cavalry and Russian armies as favorite topics to depict this subject (The Crimean War), followed by the French forces and not before Strelets, that any other brand covered the conflict in deep and depicted the Turkish forces in the 903 Thin Red Line kit (See the original kit with sprue pictures of figures included here) from where this figures are taken.

This box contains 48 foot figures in 12 different poses previously released as part of the 903 Thin Red Line kit.

The original release in the “Thin Red Line” kit included 49 different poses in three different uniform styles plus some officers and special figures devoted to the Ottoman army. In this new issue, the “new” uniform type poses have been selected, wearing a single breasted tunic, trousers tucked into boots and the universal fez with tassel, everything correctly depicted in the set.

This box include no officers and follows the 4 x format, with one single sprue repeated 4 times. Everything is correctly done but with the characteristic Strelets style of the time, which is not for everyone taste.
