Description:

British Rocket Troops.

Unpainted and unassembled plastic soldiers in 1/72 scale depicting British Rocket Artillery, developed in 1808 after learnings in the war with the Kingdom of Mysore in East India. Being produced in several different sizes did not saw a great action during the Napoleonic Wars but they were employed in battles like Leipzig 1813, Toulouse 1814 or Waterloo 1815. The kit depicts the smaller size developed, 6 pounder, an anti-personnel rocket used to support infantry or cavalry actions which seems to have been the most common in Waterloo.

Excellent Napoleonic set with 24 figures in 6 poses, 4 launchers and 4 carriages. A good number to build a Rocket launcher unit for any wargame.

Figures poses reminds the common ones of many artillery sets, despite the particular subject, but figures are very nicely sculpted and very well detailed, very clean, reminding also to the good old Airfix “Waterloo” British Artillery, which is fine, because both kits depict in fact Royal Horse Artillery, where the rocket units were attached, including the very common officer pose using a telescope.

The rocket launcher and the cart are simplified but well engineered, without problems to fit and turning into decent models for topic.

The set only could have been better by adding some variation of the rockets and depicting some heavier caliber.
