Description:

Chinese Chengho Sailing Ship
1/60 Scale

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/60 scale of a Chinese sailing ship of the XV century, depicting one of the vessel used by Chengho (also spelled Cheng Ho or Zheng He) a fleet admiral of the Chinese Ming dynasty who conducted a series of expeditions (seven naval expeditions) between 1405 and 1433 reaching southeast Asia, India, Arabia, the Persian Gulf and the eastern coast of Africa. His fleet consisted of over 300 ships and 28.000 men.

Trumpeter kit consists of 320 parts and measures 60cm length and 34,5cm width, while is up to 59cm height.

*Note that while even us set up this model as 1/60 scale while Trumpeter says is they did a 60cm length scale, historical sources and contemporary studies set the length of the real ship between 52 meters and 135 meters, there is controversial in this and no real evidences have been found. Anyway, both measures mean that ship is much smaller than 1/60 scale, though nobody knows what measure Trumpeter considered, and we ever have seen the ship build close to for example 1/72 scale soldiers to compare.
