Description:

Highland Infantry 1815
in Square

Unpainted plastic soldiers in 1/72 scale depicting Scottish Highland Infantry during the Napoleonic Wars, in particular, during the battle of Waterloo (1815) and forming in square to repel a cavalry charge.

This box generated some expectation, but the final approach is not of our total satisfaction. The box contains “4 equals” sprue including 36/37 foot figures in 10 poses and 3 or 4 mounted figures in one pose.

We prefer the way of other manufactures, with 2 or 3 common sprue and one command sprue, but the 4 or 3 equal sprue (multiplying command & special figures) are most common each day. A way to lower production costs. To complicate more the things, in this box you get three equal sprues plus a fragment of a fourth sprue, but this fragment varies from box to box, so for sure you get three figures of each pose, and four of some.

About the quality of the sculpture, detail and the poses, they are very good, one of the best depictions of the Napoleonic Highland Infantry in 1/72 scale. The cast is not so fine as other examples seen of this brand but is good too.
