Description:

Sardinians

Unpainted plastic soldiers in 1/72 scale depicting Sardinia-Piedmont infantry during the Crimean War (1853-1856).

At the time of the war, Italy was still not unified but divided in several Kingdoms, is not clear the motivation of the Sardinian Kingdom to join the war, other than opportunity, but they contributed with over 15.000 soldiers in 1855, and almost a quarter of them, were Bersaglieri as this kit depicts.

This box contains 48 foot figures in 12 different poses, a topic not covered by any other brand. Figures are correct and well produced, adding an interesting army for the Crimean War, but while the uniform shown is correct as per regulations of the time, many sources expose the Sardinian troops in Crimea wearing a long overcoat which is not depicted here, making the set correct for the Sardinian army of the time, but not for the Crimean campaign.

Despite this accuracy problem, figures are good and the only option to depict the Italian troops in Crimea.
