Description:

Unpainted plastic soldiers in 1/72 scale depicting Don Cossacks in Russian service during the Crimean War.

Box contains 12 different mounted figures, horses come in 6 different poses.

The Cossack cavalry formed a well bunch of the Russian light cavalry for centuries and for the time of the Crimean War dressed pretty much according to their regulation. The box art depicts a common feature that later, and sadly, is not seen in the figures included, which is the cap covered by an oilskin.

Main weapon should include lances in a higher number than the kit depicts, but in any case there is a not so bad distribution of the weapons in the set, and the 12 different poses is always something to welcome.

Sculpture and detail is the common in the Strelets time, not liked for everyone, due more rough details and proportions than other makers issued since 80s.

Strelets did an important effort covering different Cossacks cavalries in this subject, and this one is a good addition to complete the picture even if the Russian cavalry did not played a significant role in the Crimean War.
