Description:

X-Wing Fighter

This kit was released in 2001, setting a before and after in the X-Wing available kits, in both 1/72 and 1/48 scale, any of the older moulds before this kit was able to compete in quality and detail.

This remained so till the Bandai releases for the same topic, Bandai – BAN991406 – X-Wing Starfighter, and several other later releases.

Sadly, at least we think so, both brands diverged in the interpretation and source of “official” measures, and though bot kits are labelled as 1/72 there is an important size difference, being Fine Molds a smaller kit.

The Fine Molds kit included two nice figures, seat and standing pilot, and decal sheet with four markings, including of course Luke Skywalker, and three other members of the Red Squadron at the Battle of Yavin which ends with Luke destroying the first Death Star. The Droid also have options for two parts, R5-D4 and R2-D2.

After the original release there was several limited editions releases, to include +DVD, Chrome Edition, and +C3PO figure.
