Description:

Pz.Kpfw.VI Ausf.B Königstiger
(Conventional Version)

Unassembled plastic scale model in 1/72 scale of a German WW2 Heavy tank Tiger II, also known as Königstiger (Bengal tiger in German) or as King Tiger by allied forces. The Tiger II entered in service in 1944 and never was produced in numbers enough, mostly due precise air raids by the Allies. Initial models suffer also of severe reliability performance, while late models improved some of these conditions, the lack of several prime materials drove the tank to show always less performance than expected, and less quality than previous German designs such Tiger I or Panther tank, together with the low number produced and even if its great 8,8cm gun was able to engage targets and 2,5km, then tank hadn’t the impact in the battlefield expected.

Kit features photo etched detail parts as well as aluminium barrel. Decal sheet included are generic numerals and balkenkreuz as used in the heavy tank battalions where these tanks served. (They were not issued to regular or SS panzer units, but only to independent heavy tank battalions).
